Maggie MacDougall


FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

Maggie brings more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, spanning a diverse array of sectors, and has earned distinction as an award-winning analyst. As the founder of IronBird Advisory, she is deeply committed to helping businesses thrive. Maggie recently served as a Director of Park Lawn Corporation (PLC:TSX), which was acquired by Birch Hill Equity Partners in August 2024. During her time there, she contributed to the HR and Compensation Committee, Governance Committee, and Investment Committee. Before founding IronBird, Maggie was Vice Chairman and Head of Research at Stifel Nicolaus Canada, where she played a key role on the Executive team, and served on both the  Compensation and Liability committees. Earlier in her career she spent 11 years as a Senior Partner at an independent investment bank. Passionate about fostering the growth of Canadian companies, Maggie has consistently helped connect businesses across industries with the right investors, delivering lasting, multi-year returns through the thoughtful, strategic approach that defines IronBird.

Sarah Hughes


MANAGING PARTNER

Sarah brings over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, earning recognition as an accomplished research analyst and portfolio manager. Combining a passion for investing with a deep understanding of the financial markets and a strategic mindset, Sarah offers clients a differentiated perspective on their capital markets strategies. Prior to IronBird, Sarah was Partner and Portfolio Manager at NCM Investments, where she co-managed the firm’s small and mid-cap Canadian equity mandates. Before that, Sarah spent 18 years at Cormark Securities, where she served as a member of the senior executive team, earned recognition as an award-winning analyst, and contributed to the firm’s Risk and Executive Committees. Most recently, Sarah provided consulting services to buy-side firms, uncovering new investment opportunities and delivering in-depth analysis to inform their investment decisions.
